Once you turn into the parking lot at the crosswalk, you can park at the upper or lower levels, or other nearby parking lots. For detention center visitation or to attend Alternative School, you will enter at the lower level at the doors on your far right. For all other business at the Court, you will enter at the upper level entrance, by the flag pole.
Upon entering at the upper level, you will pass through security. You will place small items, such as your keys and cell phone in the small baskets provided, and place purses and bags on the conveyor belt. You'll then step through the metal detector. From security, you will go to your right to either the receptionist or Clerk's Office.
The receptionist can help you with the following:
- Checking in for a hearing
- Meeting with an Intake Officer or Probation Officer
- Checking in for an appointment or office visit
- Dropping off information for Court staff
The Clerk's Office is just past the receptionist and to the right and can help you with the following:
- Filing motions
- Obtaining and filing forms and applications
- Making payments
- License matters (reinstatement, privileges, etc.)
- Applying to have your record sealed
- Obtaining copies of Court documents
- Most any other question or matter
Upon approaching the secured lower level entrance, you must press the button on the wall and, after being prompted, state the reason for your visit. The door will be unlocked and Court staff will meet you at the door to assist you in either detention visitation or Alternative School attendance. Upon entrance, you will be checked with a metal detector. Please be sure to bring a photo ID. Detention visitation times are Sunday and Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and are limited to 30 minutes. Only parents, stepparents, grandparents, and brothers and sisters over the age of 18 (siblings need P.O. permission) are permitted to visit. Children of residents will be allowed to visit on Saturdays only, and only while resident is on Level III or IV. No-contact orders from the Court for any of these people will be strictly followed.
If you still have questions about your visit, you can find many answers on our Frequently Asked Questions page or call us at 440-350-3000.
