Magistrate

Magistrate Jessica Wright was appointed to the Lake County Juvenile Court as a full-time Magistrate in 2018.

Prior to joining the Court, Magistrate Wright practiced law in the private sector. Magistrate Wright’s work in private practice focused on all aspects of family law including divorce, dissolution, child custody, visitation, child support, adoption, domestic violence protection orders, and post-decree actions.

Magistrate Wright served as an appointed Guardian ad Litem in numerous divorce, custody, and abuse, neglect, and dependency cases during her time in private practice. Additionally, Magistrate Wright represented children and adults in abuse, neglect, and dependency, delinquency, and adult criminal proceedings.

Magistrate Wright also served as a Legal Guardian for adults through the Lake County Probate Court.

In 2017, Magistrate Wright was named the Child Advocate of the Year by the Lake County Board of Commissioners and the Lake County Department of Job and Family Services for her work with children and families in the community.

Magistrate Wright is a certified mediator trained in basic, specialized family/ divorce, and domestic abuse mediations.

Magistrate Wright graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2009. She graduated from the Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law in 2012.

Presently, Magistrate Wright hears cases involving delinquent, unruly, and traffic offenses; abuse, neglect, and dependency cases; and child custody, paternity, parenting time, and child support matters.
