Biography

A lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, Ben Neylon lives in Lake County with his wife of twenty-nine years, Kristy. They have a son and daughter together.
Magistrate Neylon graduated from Ohio University in 1993 and worked as an Athens County Juvenile Probation Officer for four years. He worked for the City of Garfield Heights Law Department while attending Cleveland Marshall Law School. Magistrate Neylon was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1999 and the Northern District of Ohio in 2004.
After three years of private practice, Magistrate Neylon was employed for ten years as a Lake County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Civil Division. He was then hired as the Human Resources Director for the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities for three years. Magistrate Neylon returned to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office for seven years, as Supervisor of the Child Support Enforcement Division.
Magistrate Neylon was appointed to be Magistrate of the Lake County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division, to hear cases regarding child support matters in February of 2023.
